Well, I did include the URL. It works fine on Xandros, and also once I
"corrected" Firefox
so as not to automatically try to start downloaded files it works fine on
Firefox. btw othe rpm's

No proxy here and yes it does seem that this is a misconfigured server
possibly a problem with its mime.magic. Bug closed?

Thanks for the response. Searching on the Internet I found that this is a
bug/feature of Firefox.
No matter what I set the download preferences to ie nothing it would always
open rpm's in Totem.

This sounds like a misconfiguration on the end of the server you are
downloading the RPM from.
Basically both RealPlayer files and RedHat RPMs both end in .rpm . The
only way to know the correct program to open them in is
