AC and batter monitoring have stopped working for me in edgy. They
worked at first, then pooped out after some number (2,3?) of reboots.
Same kind of behavior as in dapper. Can we get this confirmed or what?

I'm using kernel 2.6.18 and the problem is still there.
If I boot my computer with AC Adapter and then disconnect it, battery
monitor works but if I boot my computer without AC Adapter it updates no
more even if I reattach the AC Adapter...

Seems to be fixed in Edgy. Although brightness buttons still don't work.

I also get this behavior on my HP nw9440. Acpi works flawlessly on the
live cd. I suggest everyone having this problem should pop in the live
cd and see if the battery meter works. If so, then its a regression and
it should be easier to fix.
Other acpi events that work on the live cd but not on
I confirm this bug even on my Compaq nx7400 and Dapper. After reboot
battery status doesn't change anymore. It seems like it's a bug in
kernel 2.6.15 and vanilla kernel 2.6.17 fixes the problem...

I can confirm this bug with my HP NX6110-Notebook and dapper.
Battery and ac_adapter detection works some time after booting and then stops
working.
No error message, but the battery-state and ac_adapter-state don't change
anymore.
This worked with breezy.
