same behaviour with the 12.04 alpha here.
this is really really annoying and it happened in all releases so far
from time to time. that is a basic issue to play a webstream!

Seeing the same problem in Lucid, checked to see that I have packages:
python-gst0.10
python-glade2
libgnomevfs2-extra
installed. Anyone facing the same thing?

It is some kind of user setting. The only way to get it working was to remove
~/.gconf
I suspect some totem setting as I could not find different that seemed related
in apps/rhythmbox

The problem also exists in Jaunty Beta.
Packages mentioned above are installed, xine plays the stream fine. However
deleting and recreating does not have an effect.
It all worked prior to the update, so seems to be a Jaunty regression.

Same error appears to exist in Jaunty Alpha 5.
I did an "update-manager -d" today and tried to play the same uri I was playing
prior to the upgrade.
No luck, I got the error reported herein. However, after deleting and
recreating the same URL, it worked fine. This could be a rhythmbox
upgrade iss
The packages had been installed but it didn't work. I can't reproduce
this bug now so I have closed the bug.
