I had Dapper installed on my desktop and it worked great but I had some problems with my Hard drive so I wiped and did a clean install of Edgy. My computer came up in 1600 x 1200 resolution at 86Hz. I wanted to drop down in resolution, but it hangs for about 15 seconds then give me the login screen

Right now the resolution 1024x768 is the only one available, the display dirver has been changed to i900 by a fix related to this bug: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-driver-rendition/+bug/26411 When I look in my xorg.conf the only resolution available there is 1024x768.
