epiphany has this bug since intrepid... think ubuntu karmic is still in
beta: nm-applet is completely buggy, and the partitioner in x64
alternate won't create a filesystem on dm-crypt partitions... I'll
change to debian when linux 2.6.31 is in testing... in germany we name

I just discovered something that may help diagnose the issue. It seems I
have the most problems with links opening new windows rather than new
tabs on sites from Google (Gmail, iGoogle, etc.). LInks on my personal
start page open in new tabs, IMDb opens in new tabs, Bank of America
opens in new tab
I have the same problem on xubuntu 9.10 32 bits
I do not have "open in a tab" in the link context menu
Middle click and ctrl click works to open in a new tab

I have to disagree with you, BeowulfOF. As Neils wrote in comment #5
there is no new tab option for the content menu, as is shown in the
first image I attached, although middle-clicking the link does open it
in anew window as you decribe. As my second image shows the new window
is opened in a windo
confirmed, in karmic the option is in the context menu, but a new window
is opened instead of a new tab.

I am using epiphany-webkit in karmic, and there still does not seem to
be an 'Open in new tab' in the link context menu, nor does middle-click
or CTRL+left click open a link in a new tab.
