Also using Handy Heron and having trouble with .avi files. No other
video files on my HD to test.

thank you for your bug report. does changing the system, preferences,
sounds, music and video option to alsa makes a difference? does gst-
launch-0.10 playbin uri=file://directory/example works correctly?
