Sorry for the delayed reply but I tried to reproduce this issue under
Ubuntu Lucid and works fine for me (pressing ctrl + z for restore a
deleted item). I am not sure if this requirement is that or do you want
include a menu in alacarte that could say "Undo" or something similar,
