While the cwd to /home is not needed and should be avoided, this also
seems to be a bug in the FTP server. In order to CWD to /home/user you
must have execute permission in /home, which is also what should be
needed to CWD to /home. Without read permission you can't LIST the

On Ubuntu 9.10, I am getting the same error trying to log into a Mac
Leopard computer. Again the error seems to be that I do not have
permissions to access all the files that Nautilus is parsing.

I've since upgraded to Hardy and, yes, I still get the same error.
