yes, please,
support btrfs sub-volumes.
It will be great to see it in conjunction with full disk encryption.|
Unfortunately ZFS is not an option due to its memory CPU requirements.
And ext4 isn't that flexible especially with podman\docker\lxd and backup tools.

Title:
subiquity isn't able
This is an unfortunate regression. Separating / and /home is simply a
must. Seeing how other distributions (Suse and Fedora) have embraced
btrfs as their default, I had hopes Ubuntu would follow (eventually)
with better btrfs support (not necessarily as default filesystem but at

I also found this

guide helpful for converting a default installation into subvolumes.

Also, when you guys finally fix it, hopefully it'd be similar to what
OpenSUSE is doing

The one Kubuntu and Lubuntu are using with Calamares is also a good
start.

This is indeed very strange.
From different Ubuntu LTS versions which I am trying (Focal, Jammy, Noble) only
Noble seems to have this problem.
Obviously I can move everything from / to subvolumes like @ and @home
myself with a couple of manual commands, but this makes it all so much
more difficul

Wish the team would take priority in solving this, or at the very least
have some way to create custom subvolumes.
I dunno, it’s just tedious when I had to fix mine.

Closing that ubuntu-desktop-installer report since the component is
deprecated. We aren't going to fix 23.10 installer bugs at this point
and Noble uses ubuntu-desktop-provision, feel free to reopen/reassign to
that component if that's still an issue with the noble beta image
