Agreed on the close, the main issue, the disorganisation of the
packages to the level of unusability is fixed.
A separate report for the missing dependency was filed.

Upgrading was not an option, the broken system was removed, but I did
a full os upgrade, and the "bundled" extensions seems to work.
I filed another report via the crash detector, it seems that
additional packages are needed to configure the extensions.

Extensions are pretty badly buggy for me on Focal. Some work, but many
don't, and won't upgrade, can't be configured, and don't give any
information about why they have failed.
If I go to https://extensions.gnome.org/, the installed extensions page
tells me that there are extensions like gsconnect
I never just update one package. I always update them all.
