Well the fix is not that good :
If one is now able to strech the icons, a streched icon lokks awful even
when using an svg file as icon.
It is as if it is converted to low res bitmap and then streched, so
where the advantage of vector format icons ?

Confirmed, with the current hardy build from Feb 15th, I cannot stretch
the icons:
Put the attached link file on desktop, right-click "Stretch Icon",
resize handles appear, but cannot be moved.
(It works on gutsy)

I've got exactly the same problem here. The default GNOME icons are
stretching fine, while some icons of custom-made desktop launchers won't
stretch at all. Other icons (like e.g. ScummVM's or Thunderbird's) are
even replaced by default ones.

Stretching doesn't seem to work with icons provided by upstream Azureus
and Eclipse. Seems to work fine with stock gnome icons..
I'm attaching the upstream azureus icon that I'm unable to stretch. I'm
not sure if azureus license permits to do this, so please remove if it's
not okay.
