I did an dist-upgrade (NOT to 8.04) yesterday and now is working fine, I had
not doen and upgrade or dist-upgrade in over a month.

Looking and the trace report I found that it is looking for files that
somehow got remove, would this be the cause of the issue? since it is
not really crashing I ran Strace, it just keeps working in the
background even after the GUI window has been closed consuming 80 to 90%
of CPU power.
