I use compiz normally, but the problem is also there when _not_ using compiz or
any fancy stuff.
As said it is a IBM Thinkpad T42, so the specs are:
64MB RADEON 9600,
Intel Mobile Pentium M 735(1.7GHz)
The driver I use is:

I am not sure if this is really a problem with Totem as VLC and even
realplayer seem to have the same problem, but maybe you know where too
look :-)
