test this behavior with a newer version of Ubuntu like Gutsy Gibbon you

I now see my emails again, but I don't think it's downloading them, but
thats based on the progress bar not moving.
I would have to spend more time with it to see if its actually downloading
emails without moving the progress bar when I click "send/receive".
