It is great to have a clean, elegant minimalistic interface but the
ability to customize it is my rather important in many users opinion. It
would be great if the toolbar customization could be reconsidered.

Indeed, now that Ubuntu has become the most popular distribution for
mainstream, with Gnome and Nautilus, I do miss this ability to easily
customize the main toolbar as I could in KDE Konqueror, such as for
adding a "Show/Hide hidden files", or in Firefox.

I find it quite surprising that the nautilus toolbars cannot be
customized. On the main toolbar, the home button is quite useless,
because it is redundant to the Home entry in the side pane. I'd like
take the few buttons that I do find useful and move them up next to the
menu. Please respect the

I'm shocked that Nautilus is missing this functionality. Ideally, i'd
like it to function like Firefox (as suggested by a forum poster), along
with the ability to drag & drop items into the main toolbar. At the
moment, this and the network settings manager are my only gripes with
gnome/Ubuntu.
