I installed nvidia drivers and Ubuntu stopped booting, so I had to boot
using the USB. And now the sounnd stopped working. How did you install
nvidia drivers?

Macbook running Ubuntu 13.04 stop working when suspended

Well, I did a whole bunch of things. I think most notably I switched to
Nvidia's driver for X. I also installed macfanctld.
I wasn't taking note of exactly what I did, because I didn't expect
either of those things to affect this, but it seems at some point
suspend/resume started working properly
Any interim solutions for how to suspend would be welcome, too, because
at the moment I cannot find a way to suspend (and resume!) my laptop. So
I think my only option whenever I need to travel is to either leave it
running with the lid closed, or to shut it down and start it up each
time.

I have the same symptoms on my MacBook6,1 after upgrading to Ubuntu
13.04. Before that I was running 12.04 and suspend worked fine.
Additionally I can add: when manually suspending (by running pm-suspend,
for example) the screen goes blank, but the white case LED does not
start "breathing", like i
