On my notebook I use the ati driver - on the omnibook the i912 driver.

gstreamer-properties is set to Autodetect. In xine I tried xv and x11
and both were not working.

It's likely to work if you use gstreamer-properties to change the

Totem-gstreamer doesn't work either. Xine-ui works when I switch to
OpenGl output also.

I had a problem similar to this and turned out to be a permissions
issue. Something to do with the external display. Try running Totem
with sudo and see if the problem goes away. Ex. # sudo totem
(filename).

I use Feisty + totem-xine - but I already have this problem since Edgy (I
thought it was working in Dapper - but I'm not sure anymore). Strange thing is
- I also have a Omnibook with a i830 chipset - and it's the same behaviour
there - which makes me kind of suspect that it is more xorg than dri
Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Do you use
totem-gstreamer or totem-xine? Does it happen using gst-launch-0.10
playbin uri=file:///path/to/video? Does it happen with an another
software?
