It is either with this particular PDF file or Google chrome's doc viewer
is doing it the right way; other viewers aren't. Or it is the other
way around. One of the online PDF viewer displayed it correctly. Given
these observations, I cannot be sure if it is not an evince rendering
problem at all
Biplab, I can't address the Google Chrome browser issue specifically.
But, I have downloaded the PDF you provided and viewed it in multiple
PDF viewers on Ubuntu and on multiple PDF viewers on my Android phone.
All display the red outlines around the links. This is not an evince
rendering problem.
Thank you for your response. If the problem is a result of the specific
PDF file and not with the Evince package, then how come the same PDF
file is rendered perfectly by another PDF viewer such as Google Chrome
browser. Does it still indicate the PDF file in question is problematic
and not Evince?

submitted is not really a bug in the "evince" package and is a result of
the specific PDF file, I've marked the bug report as "invalid". This is
