[Bug 735727] Re: Nautilus gets stuck in infinite loop on startup

Yep, I'm running the Gnome3 PPA, as I much prefer Gnome-Shell to Unity. The steps to repeat are simple, open Nautilus and switch to a folder you view in List View. It sits there in an infinite loop filling the xsession error log with the message above. -- You received this bug notification beca

After a little extra experimentation, it seems that it's the list view that is the problem. Any folder I view in icon view is fine, I normally use list view, which is why my home folder is affected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is s

Update: this appears to only happen when I ask Nautilus to open my home dir. I can open Nautilus fine if I point it at a USB stick, then if I change dir to home, it gets stuck again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nau

Hi David, while it may be too complex to "fix" this as a papercut, a quick win would be just to double the width of this column and that surely can't be THAT hard? This is an extremely annoying bug, if for instance you're browsing through a dir filled with files with similar names, such as TV epi

I hope you guys are able to fix this as a papercut (even if you just increase the default width of the column) everytime I open a new nautilus window I have to resize the column, it's become second nature, but still annoying. It's the very definition of a papercut. -- In list view, the name colu
