The problem seems linked to the lid close behavior. Unplugging the laptop or plugging it in seems to trigger a lid close. Figured out the problem. If you install Adobe Reader 9.2 and have it set as default for opening PDFs, it causes nautilus to hang in the documents folder, for some unknown reason. I switched back to the document viewer, and this switch eliminated the problem. -- Documents folder won't load if it
