sorry,
i thought i'd posted this info, as it might help another user,
i spoke to dell about this and they believed it to be a hardware problem,
sent me a knew dvd drive, i downloaded the codecs,
was then directed to by totem to download the necessary plugins to support the
application front and ba
Totem cannot play this type of media (DVD) because it does not have the
appropriate plugins to be able to read from the disc.
this is after i've downloaded gstreamer
