I was missing several icons on my gnome-panel, after some looking around I
discovered that I was missing
the "notification-area-applet" after restore of this applet on my gnome-panel I
got back my missing applets.

yes, i confirm, since one of the last daily updates i lost my standard
keyboard, i'm using the Belgium keyboard, and although it is configured as
being the standard keyboard after each reboot i have the standard US keyboard
is use.
