Finally fixed with an upgrade to kernel 2.6.35-24-generic last week.
I must have missed your request in august and i didn't check back as the
situation continued unchanged.

Hi,
me again. :)
I tested the bug with a hardy-livecd on my pc and the crash did not occur.
So it might already be fixed in the newer version of gnome-games.
