It happened while moving files around. It seems to be stable now. It has not
been occurring for weeks now.

After careful observation, I noticed that after an umount and mount of the
hard drive that holds the files (with notes) I do loose all notes.

As far as you are concern, feel free to reproduce it.
How to replicate it. Put notes on a lot of files, in a lot of different
folders.
