I think the bug is introduced with gstreamer support for libv4l, since
the patch was dropped in a recent upload and when reapplied the bug came
back. I don't now why since gst-launch does work with lastest gstreamer
upload, but cheese doesn't.

With libv4l-0_0.5.1-1 from the PPA cheese still doesn't work. Player
does, as so does ekiga. Anyone knows why my webcam works without the
libv4l? As I'm guessing any app not using that library is working here
(mplayer, ekiga 2) but cheese that uses gstreamer doesn't.

Yes, I use network manager. My internet access is working berfore gnome-
panel starts. I get weather reports on my locations, but it seems that I
the Home location is not remembered anymore after the updates. If I set
the home location and re-login the bug reapperars and in the clock
applet I c
I've fixed the issue by removing the applet, reinstalling the gnome-
applets & gnome-applets-data packages, and adding the clock applet again
(setting my home location again).

For some strange reason I can switch to another virtual terminal
(control + alt + Fx) and back again to gdm, so I had to log out, kill
evolution-data-server and restart gdm. Then the log out dialog appears

Slab (opensuse gnome's new menu) has built it support for recently used
applications, but currently it doesn't work since it needs to patch both
gnome-panel and gnome-desktop so they create an xml file with this
applications. I think this is the best thing this menu offers

I think this also happens on my edgy install on startup. Nautilus uses
100% CPU and I have to killall it, then everything is fine. This happens
to me almost on every reboot. I think it's the same issue since I
sometime have images or folders with videos on my desktop folder and
they show with t
The upstream bugtracker still shows this bug opened, so maybe the ftp
bug is a different one?

The uslab menu has a hidden option to show recently used applications.
This is by far, the best feature this menu brings,. and what makes it
more useful than the current gnome menu applet.
I imagine it's disabled for this reason. Anyway, looking throught the
ubuntuforums
