Ok, I created a new user and did have the same problem, so it is a
global error.
I did run the commands but all I got was a desktop config file, I
suppose this is what you want?

No, my wrong. Today it did it again, the night before yesterday and
yesterday with what I had done was ok, but this morning it did it again.
Had to Hard Reboot.
Still here are the steps I did. Maybe they lower the chances somehow:
System>Administration>Login Window
Select Local Tab
Select Style "
I think a temp fix which I did was disable the themed login manager and
just use plain interface, since last night with this option I have not
had any errors, also I have disabled acpid and apmd but I think that's
more for laps?

Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 32 bit
Processor AMD Athlon 64
Motherboard: MSI K8MM-V
NVIDIA GeForce 6200 AGP
NVIDIA Driver Version: 169.07 (Installed with Alberto Milone's "ENVY")
1 GB RAM
In my case I don't even get the login manager after display goes to
sleep.
