Since 2012 I waited for this issue to be solved in Ubuntu (see my
comments). At last I have given up and therefore I swiched to Linux Mint
Cinnamon. No such problems with scaling at all.

Why is this missue marked as invalid?
Ubuntu still suffers on this subject. Other Linux distributions work
perfectly on this matter (Fedora, Linux Mint, OpenSuse)
As far as I know only Ubuntu is not able to change the mouse pointer.

to get rid of these unnecessary and weird behaviour issues for the

The window for the system settings give an incomplete view when bigger
fonts are used. Furthermore this window cannot be enlarged. This causes

Because the new designed Users and Groups window is first introduced in Lucid,
the issue is new with 10.4. So I only can check the themes dust and clearlooks.
The result is however the same. The length of the translated text in those
buttons is still longer than the original English version. Wit
try.

As a temporary simple solution you could use a huge (i.e. 40x36
pix) .png button that only needs to scale down

with bigger fonts (>100 dpi) a simular affect is noticable. Window is
