I connect to a Netgear WGR614v9 router with NAT filtering set to open. After my router I have a satellite modem (Wildblue ISP). I did find some info in my routers log which indicated that something incoming was attempting an 'IP spoof' DOS attack. I'll do a little more testing to see if I can pin

I'm being affected by this as well. ctrl-alt-backspace works for me. I've been using #sudo shutdown -h now as a workaround. Additionally I am getting init.d S99 automount - permission denied and CIFS VFS server not responding, though I believe these to be unrelated. -- [Hardy] Selecting "Quit"
