If this bug has a 'final' proposed fix is there a chance someone could
create a binary of the patch for i386 and post it (along with
instructions on how to 'install' the patched library on ubuntu 8.04.1)?
That way we all could be testing the fix now and confirming it fixes all
the issues, not just
