hello Daniel, I am sorry but it looks like I didn't manage to get my point
across properly: the side pane I am referring to is the one in gthumb. Suppose
you have a few pics in, say, folder1 and folder1 is currently highlighted in
gthumb's side pane
confirmed, applying the patch and rebuilding nautilus sorted it for me, thanks!

the highlight effect sure is nice, and it is by no means affected by the
problem I reported, this only happens when the icon is being dragged around,
it's weird nobody ever noticed, I think I'd better make a movie through some
screen capture proggie as to make things eaiser for you to see
