when I hit the simple q key on my keyboard while in gnome terminal, instead of
showing q, it opens a new gnome-terminal.
I am not sure why this happens.

I now see my emails again, but I don't think it's downloading them, but
thats based on the progress bar not moving.
I would have to spend more time with it to see if its actually downloading
emails without moving the progress bar when I click "send/receive".

I got my motherboard sound to work again.
I was playing with the volume control and I am not sure how it started working
again but it did.
But the extigy I still don't know if it can work at all...

Can I uninstall/reinstall gnome-panel with, for example,

I was changing the settings in Beryl trying to figure out how they made the
video in youtube to get that 3D background picture.
I left the beryl settings manager.
Then some message came about the panel not working.
The word menus in the panel went away
