You don't need to wait for the next release. If you just build the
current one from the source tarball from the gstreamer website, ladspa
gets built. No idea why it's not built as part of the existing shipping
packages...

It's in gst-plugins-good-0.10.4. I grabbed the upstream tarball, built
it, then copied libgstladspa.so into /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/ - it seems
to work fine.
I don't know if it's possible to issue a fixed version of the edgy
packages with this plugin, but it should at least be fixed for feisty.

The one thing that prevents me using evolution is that there's no way to
run a command before initiating a POP connection. In this case, I want
to run an ssh tunnel command to port-forward POP locally to the remote
server. Running it as a seperate command is a bit too grotty a
