I find so many parts of this discussion inane. All that is needed here is an option! Just a simple item in the preferences that allows you to enable an "are you sure" prompt. No change is needed to the functionality of anything. The option can be added unchecked by default and the average user

Has nautilus always been this way? I find it hard to believe that any file manager would not have this option available. I have been a konqueror user for a while and was hoping to get used to nautilus, but have come across many very basic issues like this one. I will be switching back to konquer
