Linux is install on an ext4 partition, where the files are also located.
I suspect this is nautilus-specific. mv foo Foo yields the correct
results

Upon pressing F2 to rename a file, if delete one of the characters and replace
it with the same character, but a different case, and you click rename, the
changes should save.
Instead they get discarded
E.g. renaming foo.c
Sorry about that. Ultimately gave the laptop away. Was running dapper
on it and the bug must have gotten fixed because by the time I gave it
away I didn't remember the crash still being there...
