Indeed, I can't reproduce this with the Gutsy Tribe 4 live CD & subsequent install. It's not an exhaustive test though because no notification bubbles are popping up just after installation (no updates available for testing I guess). As to why I think it's the notification popups, this is because after a fresh install, after logging in you get an 'updates' notification right away. Most of the time if I was quick I could click a menu before that appeared and that click worked, however after the notification had popped up sometim

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity On a completely fresh install of Edgy on a Dell Latitude D620 (with updates), I sometimes see problematic click behaviour, where mouse clicks seem to get "stuck" and they never end up anywhere else anymore. It seems related to notification popups
