Hi E.Jurgens, seems to be a duplicate of bug #644644 - unfortunately the
problems have returned for me but there are some workarounds described
in discussions of 644644

I'm in the process of configuring Ubuntu Maverick 10.10 Netbook edition and ran
into the same problem. However installing the restricted extras packages has
seemed to fix it.
