This issue has been recurring since at least three Ubuntu releases for
me, and it seems to be related to other similar issues with the hand
cursor not being switched back to arrow.
There might be a lead on how to fix such problems in the comments of
gnome-bugs #315023: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/sh
Does the fact that it got backported to Evince’s gnome-2-24 branch means
this will be a part of GNOME 2.24.2 and thus make its way (in due time)
into Intrepid?
(A backport of this fix to hardy-proposed would be nice, but I assume
‘importance: low’ means it’s rather unlikely…)

With every single one.
1. Open one of them.
2. Maximise Evince.
3. Close.
4. Open another one – Evince is stuck on the Loading screen (unmaximising makes
the PDF appear properly).

With the ones from /usr/share/example-content for example.
