English is not my first language. So to be sure:
I do not have conflicting shortcus but I have shortcuts without CTRL. This it
what happens when I try to rename the file 'foo' to 'invalid':
- Selecting file 'foo'
- Press F2 for rename file => filename changed to inputbox
- Press 'i'
- Press 'n' =>
On my system the shortcut is 'n' (without CTRL).
When I'm changed it back to CTRL-N, I'm able to put a 'n' to the filename the
other way round not.

I could not rename a file with an 'n' in it - which is the shortcut for
"New Window" on my system. A new window opens and the file remains with
it old name.
Shouldn't it be better not to react on shortcuts while renaming file is
in progress?

Hello,
after my IMAP Server became broken, Evolution (on my local machine)
crashes shortly after start. Didn't find any log - below the output when
Evolution is started from a console:
