my understanding of this issue is that ffmpeg in general does support
AVCHD files, but there might very well be some producers that produce
files that ffmpeg does not understand. If you find such a file, I'd
suggest to follow the bug submission guidelines at

AVCHD, AFAIU the upstream bugtracker. Possibly for some specific
camcorders some bugfixes need to be backported. Please file propoer
bugreports with samples, so that we can test and reproduce the problem.
