This happens to me on startup with 2.30.3-1ubuntu7.3. Evolution doesn't
get to the point of displaying anything graphically. Here is what

I have solved my problem. I installed a package called DeVeDe through
synaptic package manager which encodes the movie to an ISO file, and
then I burn it with K3b. This works for me.
However the original problem with bresaro is still there, I just found
another way to do the same thing.

making a copy of the file. Searching through the Ubuntu Forum site I
came across a poste that suggested a program called DeVeDe. I opened
the Synaptic Package Manager and entered the search for DeVeDe and there

I updated my PC with sudo apt-get update then upgraded. Then an addition
the to the time in the upper right of the default GNOME desktop showed
up which specified the weather . . . sky conditions (sunny/cloudy/etc.)
and the temperature. This weather data was incorrect. I clocked on the

Binary package hint: gnome-panel
The weather apps on my panel don't display any weather info. After
trying to update for some time, I get a failed retrieval error.

Similar symptoms on my 7.04 desktop install are produced by remote
(Windows XP) logins from both Hummingbird Exceed or X-Win32 on 100% of
my attempts.

The contents of /usr/lib/mime/packages/gnumeric-gtk gets added to
/etc/mailcap (I don't know how or when), most applications handle the
linefeed without issue. However, pgadmin3 points out the error in
/etc/mailcap.

The Edgy Install was an upgrade from Dapper. Yesterday, I did a fresh
install of Edgy using the Alt. Install CD. Today, the first cold boot
startup, worked fine. It's likely the laptop was gunked up by either the
Upgrade (less likely) or me adding and removing software or tweaks over
time (most lik
I would appreciate it, too. We either use the analog clock (KDE) or a
blank screen (ubuntu) on our computers. Thanks.

I have a Dell laptop with an Intel 845 graphics chipset. The bootup has been
insconsistent, in that usually it succeeded in less than 3 attempts. When it
failed, it booted all the way to X startup with no problems. The X.org wait
cursor appears and
i use GNOME (ubuntu edgy development version)
my edgy was upgraded from dapper by "apt-get dist-upgrade"
need other info ?
