BUMP.
This is SUCH an annoyance, any work arounds? I like to use hibernate
since my network manager prevents full shutdown.

Binary package hint: gnome
Set computer to auto-login as a user, and hit CTRL-ALT-Backspace by
accident. Gnome presented a login box, and I would expect to NEVER see
that anymore until I change the setting or hit log-out-user in the
shutdown dialog.
