Got the same issue on Ubuntu Natty. Instead of only black bars mine are colorful. Sometimes it is impossible to read the text due to this problem. Included is one of the PDF files. All files produced by my teacher have these bars. Information from the file: Producer: Mac OS X 10.6.4 Quartz PDFCo
