Looks like a problem in one of the Metacity patches added between
oneiric's metacity 2.34.1-1ubuntu4 and precise's 2.34.1-1ubuntu11. If I
install oneiric's package, window placement and resistance works just
fine.

I have reproduced this problem with the Gnome Classic desktop
In fullscreen mode this occurs on the change of minute and seems to be
caused by the clock applet.

developer thinks is correct for the world. Or have to translate the
time which is better obtained form locales.
IMHO should the Spain locale bugs be corrected is with sensible
defaults, not removing 12-hour format.

I think the problem is related to the beryl window manager (not in
standard in ubuntu)
reverting to metacity seems to fix the problem, both from the command
line (after clean reboot and update from this morning) and from the menu
(by the way, command from the menu is as exp
Using +/- keys to scale font size seems to be extremely sluggish also,
likely related. At it's worst, the entire terminal goes white and will
render the text only after switching tabs and/or moving cursor over the
window.

I have tryed debug this with older versions of metacity too, it seems to
exist in version 2.10.3 of metacity too. I'm not even sure is this
metacity problem(?)
