I saw exactly the same behavior. The applet is crashing when kdm is used
instead of gdm. I don't have space on my hard drive to install the debug
stuff so I cannot provid the file you asked but I'm pretty sure that you
can reproduce it very easly (it's suffice to reconfigure gdm to kdm:

Nop the problem doesn't exist anymore for the simple reason that the option
doesn't exist anymore...
It seems that it's not possible to print in landscape with the new version or I
didn't find where to choose this option.

I'm not surprised, it's working for me too but 1.7.2 is not the versions in
dapper or edgy. The gnumeric version in dapper or in edgy are not good and it's
a problem with the package because when I compiled them myself with the archive
from gnumeric website, eveyrthing is working (version 1.7.0
Yes I had the plugins installed (in other hand I would have unable to have them
work with the gnumeric-gtk).

I can't use gfig under dapper due to a bug in gtk. I tried the devel
version of gimp and I saw the problem. I saw after that the gimp version
from dapper does have exactly the same crash. Gimp developer suggest
that the problem is from gtk. To
the thing is that I don't have any problem with gnumeric-gtk. The
problems are with the package gnumeric. It's not a big deal for me
because I found the workaround by install gnumeric-gtk but there are
something strange at least for me with gnumeric.
