I'm experiencing this behavior too. For me, it only occurs if compiz is
running.
Attached is a output from running "gnome-screensaver --debug --no-
daemon", attempting to unlock the screen, then finally killing the
process.

Based on the calculator documentation, I think this is the intended
behavior. The percentage operator divides the value by 100, it's not a
"unit". For example, the operation 100 * 50% should return 50 (as it
does), not 5000%.
