I tried building gnome-panel from source:
sudo apt-get build-dep gnome-panel
sudo apt-get source gnome-panel
cd gnome-panel-2.30.2
sudo ./configure
sudo make
And make failed with this error:

Also, manually creating the key with "gconftool-2 -s
/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/general/disable_indicator -t bool
true" then logging out and back in like marmuta said doesn't seem to
work.

Long timestamps on every facebook message

sent. This is very annoying/distracting, taking up almost half of the

account. It worked correctly, but also added a second account labeled
"Facebook". Judging by the icon, this should be labeled as "People

I'm an en_US speaker who supports this change. "Switch Off" just feels
very strange, and it's not immediately obvious what it does. "Turn Off"
would be the best of the alternatives--when talking about any electronic
device (phones, tvs, etc.), we say "I'm going to turn off the tv."

lock screen. Take a look at the link I posted--it's BASED on a GDM
theme, but what it actually themes is the lock screen.
