Andreas Kern’s post #26 solved the issue for me. After unchecking the
option"Show in user interface" (in German: "In der Benutzerschnittstelle
anzeigen") the volume was mounted without error.

Since I wrote the absolute path of the lyrics folder with dconf-editor
into org.gnome.rhythmbox.plugins.lyrics all lyrics are correctly stored
into this folder.

In EOG 3.2.0 (Ubuntu 11.10, Oneiric) the bug cannot be reproduced.
Reason: The sidebar is now totally disabled. The menu "Ansicht –
Seitenleiste, Strg-F9" in the german version, which probably reads "view
– sidebar, Ctrl-F9" in the english version is greyed out.

The bug has been fixed now. The latest version of the library
libglib2.0-0 (2.16.3-1ubuntu3) is already available if you allow
"proposed" updates in the list of software sources. I believe it will
soon be incl
I believe I have the same problem like constantinosm since a few weeks
(introduced with 8.04?) - all files copied from CDs are owned by "root"
- I have to "sudo chown myname *" them to work like before in 7.10.
