I have the same problem in Jaunty. When vino-server is running, the CPU load is about 60-70%. PC: AMD Athlon processor, 790G chipset, Radeon HD graphics with latest fglrx 9.6 driver -- Vino-server takes 90% of cpu when only listening for incoming connections https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/31037
