I can confirm that this is still happening in Utopic.
My story is same as Ritberg's.
After I connect via VNC to my vinagre daemon the io usage slowly (during approx
20 hours) climbs to 100% and the system proceeds to hang while excessively

I was actively working the computer (hands on the keyboard), when the screen
went blank. It automatically came up after a couple of seconds. This was the
first and only time it has happened to me.
Please backport this to karmic. I'm using the current updates.

it also should be noted that window focuses on mouse_down, not on
mouse_up, so dragging from a window is not possible without bringing it
in front of other windows.

furthermore, focusing a windows when clicking on it should be done on
mouse_btn_up, not mouse_btn_down, so that drag and drop could be
completed with more efficiency.
