indicator-weather deleted from "Startup Applications" on next login

Several times now I've added the "Weather Indicator" to "Startup
Applications". As long as I'm in my current session, it's listed there.
However, when I next log in, the indicator isn't running. Checking
"Startup Applications" shows it isn't
Alroger, I've been able to solve this by manually regressing to jaunty's
gome-screensaver.

If I read http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gnome-screensaver/trunk/src/gs-
monitor.c?view=log correctly, the FIXME was introduced in rev 1578 on
18-Jan. There has been no activity since 20-Jan on gs-monitor.c.
As a workaround, I did the following (in a root terminal):
cd /usr/bin
mv gnome-screensaver

to the core issue.
'gnome-screensaver-command --poke' sends a "SimulateUserActivity"
message to the screensaver. Checking gs-monitor.c, we find the

). However, it looks like all the discussion here focuses on vlc. The
same problem exists with totem--probably for the same reason. Sigh.

To reproduce: start watching a video (which is longer than your
screensaver idle tie). Enjoy the video and keep your hands away from the
keyboard and mouse. The screensaver starts.

I can confirm this behavior, although I seem to have found a fix.
I had previously set up my Epson Stylus C86 and it was working
correctly. When I went to print yesterday, I got no output. After

eog caches too many images

I know it's caching because when I run eog from a command line it outputs a
message as it caches each image.
As far as the "collection option" goes, the only place where I see an option is
under the view menu--and it is not checked. My preferred default behavior is to
view a single image at a t
